From securing sensitive contracts to safeguarding critical digital transactions, ADACOM's Qualified Timestamping Service is an essential tool for businesses navigating today's regulated and fast-paced environment.

What is a Timestamp?

Timestamping is a protocol that records the exact moment an electronic transaction occurred.

It enhances the value of an electronic signature by verifying that the document and its signature existed at a specific point in time.

This ensures that if the certificate remains unrevoked at a later date, the signature was valid when the timestamp was applied.

By doing so, timestamping serves as evidence of both the existence and any potential alteration of electronic documents.

Hash Generation

Business application creates a hash of the document.

Submission

Hash is sent to the ADACOM Qualified Timestamp Authority (QTSA).

Timestamp Creation

TSA embeds the hash with a certified date and time, securing it with its qualified signature.

Token Return

Timestamp token is sent back to the business application.

Legal Proof

Token serves as evidence of data existence and integrity.

Legal Effects

Qualified timestamps hold significant evidentiary value as digital proof. They benefit from a legal presumption of validity across all EU Member States, meaning a timestamp issued in one European Union country is recognized in all 26 others, in accordance with Article 41 of the eIDAS Regulation.
